Floating into the Abyss...

Last week I decided to try something new, I went for a floating session at Koan Float in Amsterdam. I was interested to experience the floating for myself and also to find out about the different health benefits from the Epsom salts and the floating session.

What is Floating?

It is just what it sounds like! You float effortlessly on the surface of the water in a floating capsule which is designed to reduce all stimuli (sound and light) to the brain. The water contains Epsom salts which enables your body to float. After a few minutes you are hardly able to notice which parts of your body are in contact with the water and which are not. The experience is very tranquil and relaxing. 

Benefits of Floating.

Floating is said to be beneficial for improving heart and circulatory health, flushing toxins from the body, relieving stress, improving nerve function and the body's ability to use insulin. It also it a great way to reduce stress, anxiety and for relaxing. It is also believed to increase the rate of healing in the body, alleviates pain, increases endorphin production and reduces the production of cortisol, ACTH, lactic acid and adrenaline.

Inspiring Story Sunday: Amazing Acupuncture

I thought it would be a great idea to start sharing some of my client stories on my blog. It's often a great way to really understand how beneficial treatments are to so some clients' lives.
